Taking off from the two mechanic ideas I have so far. I tried to brainstorm themes for them.
They are going to be related to music, I of course thought of the word beat but that is too common so here are some others I found.
Vibrations
Ripples
Pulse
I am sure I can find more....
At the moment I like Pulse
I feel I could make the first mechanic idea work with this upon further study.
Some other words and definitions I encountered......
Pulse wave
Pulse is measured by beats per minute.
Pulse medical definition is the throbbing of a persons arteries as an effect of the heart beat.
Ripples
Ripples is interesting because I can picture perhaps a mechanic where you are completing an action that will send ripples to another to play automatically....which will start a chain reaction that translates to some sort of combo system.
Still more thoughts and ideas to come.......

Precedent games for drawing
Here are links to the games I did during spring semester involving drawing.
These games are more of interactive sketches and are not complete as of yet.
Collecting stars
Draw lines to collect the stars
Jealous Girls
Draw lines to block objects thrown at you and reflect them back at the girls
Control Freak
Get to the lockers safely by dodging incoming people and sometimes repelling them with your powers
For full explanation of these games go to Linkchain Minigames.
Gives you a full description of these games as well as the storyline and process behind them.

First Ideas!!!
I first and foremost wanted to decide what type of mechanic I would like to use. Since I have already done a lot of research discovering what mechanics are already out there and other things.
Here is a link to that research
Game Interaction Mapping
I decided I would like to stick with the mechanic I was working with during my spring semester at parsons which was drawing. Still I feel there are not enough games with a drawing mechanic and the ones that are available are too similar and not fun in my opinion.
Some themes I was thinking about are:
1.Paparazzi
2.Music
3.Dancing
4.Fireworks
6.Racing
7.Light
I did more research on the paparazzi theme because I found it the most interesting, and the most appropriate for the target audience.
Paparazzi is derived from an Italian word for mosquito. So already you can summarize this works as means an annoying pest.
Paparazzi is a name for photographers who run behind celebrities to get pics of them for money. They can shoot from afar and are often unseen. Again they receive large sums of money for their pics.
Precedent would be:
Paparazzi the game
